PALMAIR LAUNCHES WINTER SUN FROM EXETER
EXETER International Airport will boast two new destinations this winter – courtesy of award winning carrier, Palmair.
Palmair is operating a series of holiday flights to Fuerteventura in the Canaries and to Tunisia, with a number of departures between October and March.
It’s the first time for over a decade that Bournemouth-based Palmair has flown from Exeter.
Managing Director, David Skillicorn, said: “These are tried and tested destinations and I think they’ll be really popular. The Exeter services complete the jigsaw of routes when put together with our extensive programme from Bournemouth.
“It’s a neat fit for us and Exeter is an excellent airport. We’re delighted to be offering holidays from here.”
Palmair, founded in 1957 by Peter Bath, is the tour operating arm of independent travel agent Bath Travel, which has an extensive network of branches in the West Country.
All the Exeter services will be operated by Palmair’s new Boeing 737-500, recently acquired from British Airways.
Last year, Palmair was voted best short haul airline by the readers of the consumer magazine Which? It holds the country’s oldest ATOL licence.
Mr Skillicorn said: “We’ve been offering holidays flying from Boumemouth for more than 50 years, so we like to think we’ve got a bit of experience!
“We offer all the frills we possibly can. We are definitely not in the ‘no frills’ business and we never will be.
“Palmair has recently invested heavily in a new aircraft and the routes from Exeter are another sign of our confidence in the future of our company and the prospects for the economy generally.”
